OCUBS, Top Girls and random Geekery

It seemed this weekend, if I wasn’t at the Theater, I was in bed. I’ve just felt run down. Maile says it’s a cold. I hate half-assed colds. Bring on the fevers and sneezing already. I can’t stand this ennui. I want an American cold, Damnit!

I had OCUBS duty on Friday and Saturday Night. Stayed out way, way too late on Friday. We watched the sun rise, kids. Well, not so much watched it rise, as became aware of it getting light out from bed. I hate that feeling. Oops. I blame Kaitlyn. She bought me that shot of Jagermeister. Did you know that means Master Hunter in German?

Obviously, most of Saturday was a waste. I did a little work on Jungle Book. I’m adding in a couple of Wolf Hunt scenes. The mental picture of a dozen or so actors, crouching on a half-lit stage, howling makes me very, very happy.

Saturday Night, was more OCUBS. I also went to the Dice House during Top Girls and bought another set of dice. Smokey with white numbers. A match for a set I had back in High School. I lost half that set. I don’t seem to have a complete set of anything anymore. But, I digress…

OCUBS was good. A short show. Which I don’t mind. We had a creepy guy. He didn’t bother any of my girls, but he was disturbing the audience. That is not going to happen again. Went straight home after that.

Sunday, another sick day. Went to closing night of Top Girls. Great performances all around. The girls were wonderful. The closing scene was simply amazing. If you missed it, prostrate yourself before the theater gods now.

Afterwards was a quick strike. I brought far too many tools. Then some grocery shopping. And because the City of Garden Grove can’t get their collective head out of their asses, a 15 minute walk to the apartment. Twice a month we have to do this and it pisses me off every time.

Today, I’m sending out resumes (yay!) and working on Jungle Book. Then tonight, American Gladiators at Atomic Steve’s (Go Crush!).
